What is PLA?
PLA (Polylactic Acid) is a type of biomass plastic made from renewable biological resources such as plants and animals. It is produced from renewable plant-based materials like corn, sugarcane, cassava, and even straw, without relying on traditional fossil fuels. PLA is biodegradable and, under proper conditions, decomposes naturally after disposal. As an alternative to petroleum-based plastics, PLA is used in a wide range of applications, including food packaging, containers, and textiles.
